A bramble, ten reasons to life... And one reason to leave you

I know this title seems the song’s title, but it’s further from reality. The story I tell you is a statement of intentions. A reasons’ range that something for everyone, that you don’t know if I have written if you don’t read to the end.

To start, I go to get a good ambient for this post. I invite you to drink a Bramble. A cocktail created by Dick Bradsell, on the Fred’s Club at the Soho ( London), in the late 80’s.

The Bramble cocktail recipe is:

  • 2oz. of Tanqueray n. 10. A good cup ( infusion) of citrus, a good supply of Vitamin C. The best thing to get vitality and positive energy. Tanqueray n. 10 is a premium gin of fourth destilation. On its fourths destiltation, the gin was infusionated with citrus, like grapefruit, orange and lime. All of them perfectly mixed with the juniper and chamomile touch. this is a great purity gin with a characteristic softly taste. A gin with sweet personality, and smooth, freshly and citrus aroma. Barely noticeable characteristic flavor from juniper.
  • 1 1/4 oz. of Lime juice, not only bring us fresh, it will help our nervous system to achieve the necessary balance on limit situtations
  • 1/4 oz. of sugar syrup, tenderness and affection.
  • 1/4 oz of Chambord, blackberries liquor for excellence. This liquor, one of the delights heritage of France. It’s the best of its category, not only for its taste, but for its iconic image, as its characteristic bottle was designed in honor of Louis XIV, who introduced this liquor into Chambord’s Castle at one of his travels. This liquor contains of blackberry, cognac, honey, Madagascar vanilla, and citrus peel. Louis XIV was a great representative of luxury and the good life, the same banners of Chambord.

Preparation method: fill an old fashioned glass whith crushed ice. Add gin, lime juice and sugar syrup into a shaker. Shake well and serve into the glass with double cast method.

To finish a dash of Chambord and garnish with a blackberry.

there are infinite reasons, and the truth reasons, you’re the only one that have it. But I give you the next for

guide you.

  1. Because the sun shines every morning. Always with the same enlighten yearns for life.
  2. What’s the life without a smile? And the most important, yet... What’s the life without your smile. With your smile, you get to touch the heart of everybody around you.
  3. Because every morning there are, almost one, reason for wake up... you find them, all of them are inside you.
  4. Because here you have got my shoulder, for you lean on it, for you cry on it.
  5. Because the life is a show, which must go on always. And you must to keep the force to be in there.
  6. Because life is more beautiful since you’re in it.
  7. Because life isn’t only to be, but enjoy, suffer, laugh, cry. You just have to enjoy the most of the good times and rising up every time that life bring down you.
  8. Because here you have got my hand, for everytime you need a help to continue.
  9. Because, ALL OF US, everywhere we are, hope from heart to see you smile.
  10. And the most important, the real reason is you you must have strength to find them and to fight for them.

And there arethe last part, a reason to leave you. Who can’t value me, who can’t look beyond what your eyes can see. Wow! This is the most difficult part. At first, a great sip of this delicious bramble. Come on! Let me try it!... Well, now I’ better. Let’s go... Guy, I can’t stand you!! I prefer an eternity alone, than a moment more with you. Well now that I am beginning to live.

A kaleidoscope under my skin

Today is a rare day. This post isn’t like always. You don’tread about any cocktail, or any liquor or spirit. This story is full of colors, flavors, and overcoat, essences.

I look to myself, I see my hands, my face. And the only thing that I can see, it’s the pale color of my skin. What’s rare! How can so an inexpressive skin contain too many color, life and sensations at the same time? The red

one runs through my vains, but, I’ve got the hope green, the innocence pink, the peaceful blue, the acid

yellow, the black one... oh, my God, those black days!

Under this common layer that cover myself, like a shield, all the colors of rainbow beat into me. I’m a kaleidoscope of feelings and emotions, it’s

turning with no stop, obtaining differents forms and combinations, that it makes my essence.

So this essence is convulsed within relentlessly, because it craves to go abroad with terrible despair.

Well, of everybody around me, they are very few who manage to capture my essence, because most of them, fail to see beyond the color of my skin.

And the colors and scents will this story. How an insignificant and current appearance thing, can keep in it like cluster of sensations and colors, turning and turning endlessly shaping a soul.

This reminds me of my car... Yes, my car, now you know why

This is my car...

Common and vulgar vehicle as they come. Not a decorative item, except the various frictions that give away my dificulty to adapt to their measures, and a few problems whit parkings columns.

But don’t be lied by this external appearance, it’s the interior...

At the moment you sit inside it, wow! How my car can changes!!

It has got heart and soul’ s porsche. The essence that my car transmits, is what seduces me to it. And I know for sure that I have chosen well.

My proposal for this occasion, is as follows. Let your kaleidoscopes turn free, show your colors and shapes, definitely your essence, and don’t lose it for afraid to stay alone. Because your external appearance is a shell that won’t matter, because there are someone that will see your essence.

Don’t prejudge, or underestimate those around us, no matter how they look insipid.

Give them a chance to show its essence, color and flavor. I assure you that many times you have earned a pleasant surprise.

Monkey tail... coffee things

Today is one of these days where I don't want to be.

One of these days days when I become melancholy. Suddenly, my head runs to the hidden corners of myself, almost forgotten corners... Today is a day when “ The things that I want to do before I die list”, come back to my memory. A list full of dreams, projects, whishes... full of little coffee things.

MMMmmm... cafeine, I love cafeine! I understand the reason why it's so adictive. Since the moment that you taste, who can resist its charms?

In our tireless attempts to put the end over this adiction, as much as we try the typical phrase of: “ … never again!” , later or soon, we fall in the temptation again.

In my opinion. It's a pleasure to fall in the aroma, in the flavor, in the stimulating spirit, in the well-being condition of the coffe... taste it, smell it... although it's during only one moment... better it's two, but it's worth I have enjoyed of this little coffee things.

Although, there's no accounting for tastes. I think I'm a selective cafeine addict, I don't agree with any coffee. It must to like me. I look for quality, not for quantity. I'm a pet, not a flock.

And if I consider that one type of coffee won't convince me, I quit it, I always set very high standars.

Today I want some cafeine, I would like to enjoy of a good coffee, I'd like to make coffee things, like this Monkey tail.

In mixology, the coffee is an inspirational ingredient, aromatic, only the aroma can produces a pleasure and well-being condition in us, it's very difficult to explain, and it's impossible to runaway from there... Does this sensation sounds you? What's remember you?

In other terms, the coffee is an ingredient that in mixology get very great results, we can get a wide of flavors and perceptions very lovely and curious, you only should dare to try it.

The coffee combinated with other ingredients, can obtain many added sensations that we never though to get it...

The monkey tail, is a chilean typical cocktail, that thanks to the amazing taste is an ideal cocktail for all the year. After much deliberation, I have decided that, disposed to make coffee things, each of us must to put our personal sign, our essence. So I have created my personal version of I want to be this, monkey tail.

So, the ingredient of this, my monkey tail cocktail, are:

  • 1 inch of cinnamon stick. The afrodisiac through all the times... to get the libido higher.

  • 1 inch of vanilla pod. Smooth aroma, that it gives a special, discret and gorgeous touch. The vanilla likes much more, how more discret is its taste... The seduction isn't a show, it's an insinuation.

  • 4 cloves. Strong aroma, spicy and deep. The clove produces a possitive effect and stimulating, it strengthens the memory, and it relieves depressing situations... And, it repels the insects... Interesting thing, undesirable flies, go out!

  • 2 oz of Pisco. All of us know the war between Chile and Perú about the origin of this ancestral spirit, that it stars to be known over the world. I don't decant for any country. I only recognize that in Chile and Peru, make pisco of very high quality. I like both. On this cocktail, it gives an original, lovely and misterious... for we get to enjoy of this cafeine dosis.

So this is a chilean cocktail, I have chosen a chilean pisco, the Tres Erres Pisco Special 35º. A pisco with superior quality. An amberine color, with a soft wood flavor, and, vanila and almond notes. But it doesn't make shadow to Alejandría grapes taste, the basic ingredient of the pisco. This pisco has a very delicated distilled process, and aged in American oak casks.

  • 1 oz. of Kalhúa, thte coffee liquor king, from Mexico. It makes with arabic coffee grains, it's

very characteristic for the aroma and real coffee taste, and for the dense and soft flavor.

  • And, of course! 1 oz of hot espresso coffee. Intense aroma of coffee in the most pure state. The soul of this cocktail.

The preparation, easy and for enjoy it, is the next:

At first we muddled the cinnamon, the vanilla, the cloves and the pisco on the shaken... we muddled in a strong way, but smooth too; with energy, but with cuddle; to extract and mix all the exotic aromas and flavors' storm, and delicious. We must to do slowly, but with perseverance too, we have to give time enough to the ingredients for mix them in a correct form, we haven't to pressure the things.

And then, when the ambient is ready, we add the coffee, all the coffee, in all their forms, and the best of them, the Kalhúa and hot coffee, in the shaker.

Shaken with energy, and pour the liquid into a martini glass, making a double filter method. Garnish with a cinnamon stick... and voilà...
